Kate Bollermann is a relational and insight-oriented therapist who works with adolescents, young and emerging adults, and adults navigating anxiety, performance-related stress, perfectionism, and life transitions. She creates a grounded, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore the internal pressures and interpersonal dynamics that shape their sense of self, deepen emotional awareness, and move through challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

Kate specializes in working with individuals in high-performance environments, including student-athletes, competitive performers, and high-achieving professionals. She supports clients who feel weighed down by self-criticism, fear of failure, performance anxiety, and the demands of both external expectations and internalized standards. Drawing from her background in performance psychology, Kate helps clients explore the relationship between achievement and identity, supporting them in disentangling self-worth from outcomes, building flexibility under pressure, and developing a more stable and compassionate internal foundation.

Her approach balances depth and direction. While grounded in evidence-based practices, Kate works through a relational lens, focusing not only on symptom relief and underlying patterns, formative experiences, and internalized beliefs that sustain distress. She collaborates closely with clients to strengthen self-trust, increase flexibility, and navigate transitions with greater steadiness. Kate believes that meaningful and lasting change occurs when clients feel both deeply supported and thoughtfully challenged within the therapeutic relationship.

Training & Experience

Kate earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College, where she completed a Child and Family Health concentration and received a Student-Athlete Development Certificate through the Woods College of Advancing Studies. Her training emphasized developmental psychology, family systems, and the intersection of identity, performance, and mental health across the lifespan.

Her clinical foundation is rooted in psychodynamic and relational frameworks, with a focus on attachment, identity development, and the internalized standards that shape self-concept. Kate further developed her approach through her work as a Sports Counseling Intern at Bryant University and in private practice settings, where she received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Across these settings, she has worked with adolescents, student-athletes, and adults experiencing anxiety, performance pressure, perfectionism, and life transitions. She also has experience delivering sport-based and psychoeducational programming for youth, helping to build emotional regulation, executive functioning, and coping skills. Kate’s integrative style combines psychological insight with practical, evidence-based strategies tailored to each client’s developmental stage, relational context, and performance environment.
