What types of therapy do you offer?At Upper East Side Psychology, we provide: Individual Therapy Couples Therapy Family Therapy Group Therapy (DBT Skills Group) Our clinicians specialize in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy. Each treatment plan is personalized to meet your goals, preferences, and clinical needs.

Who do you work with?We work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, relationship stress, ADHD, or perfectionism, we offer therapy that is compassionate, goal-oriented, and tailored to you.

Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy sessions?We offer both: In-person therapy at our Upper East Side and Midtown East offices in Manhattan Virtual therapy for residents of New York, Virginia, and all PsyPact states Whether you prefer to meet face-to-face or need the flexibility of remote care, our therapists are equipped to support you effectively in either setting.

What is the process for getting started?We begin with a free 15-minute consultation to learn about your needs, preferences, and goals for therapy. From there, we’ll thoughtfully match you with a therapist who can best meet your needs. Our goal is to make the process simple and stress-free. Most clients are matched and scheduled quickly. We do not have a waitlist at this time.

What is your therapy approach?We take a collaborative, personalized, and evidence-based approach to treatment. What can therapy help me with?Therapy can aid you in modifying problematic patterns that are inhibiting you from leading the full life you desire. It can help you lead a more purposeful, harmonious and balanced life and set you free from negative internalized thoughts and self-damaging and compulsive behaviors. In therapy you will gain insights and awareness about yourself, your relationships and the way you interact with the world around you. It will aid you in understanding and building upon your strengths and developing tools and skills for changing problematic behaviors, compulsions and thoughts.

Do you provide concierge-style support?Yes. As part of our concierge approach, each client receives: Direct access to their therapist via phone and email Thoughtful, personalized care coordination Referrals to trusted providers including psychiatrists, nutritionists, primary care doctors, and other specialists as needed We aim to simplify and enhance your experience—so you can focus on healing and growth without the added stress of navigating the system alone.

Do you offer group therapy?Yes. We currently offer a virtual DBT skills group focused on: Mindfulness Distress tolerance Emotion regulation Interpersonal effectiveness This group is small and skills-based, allowing participants to apply DBT tools in real-time while receiving support from peers and a trained clinician.

Do you accept insurance?UES Psychology is an out-of-network provider, but we provide curtesy insurance claim submissions. To obtain an estimate of your out-of-network coverage for mental health services, you can click here to complete our insurance verification form or you can contact your insurance carrier and ask them the following questions: Does my plan include out-of-network coverage for mental health or behavioral health services? Do I have an annual deductible? If so, how much is it and how much do I have left to meet it? After I meet my deductible, what is the maximum amount my plan will reimbursement for individual therapy service code 90837? Many of our clients are reimbursed for a portion of their session fees, and our team is happy to walk you through the process. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

What is Courtesy Claim Submission?UES Psychology takes the stress out of seeing out of network providers by offering courtesy insurance claim submissions. We have an insurance coordinator who helps you with all your insurance needs. We help our patients understand their out-of-network insurance benefits prior to starting therapy by offering a complimentary estimation of benefits, which you can receive by clicking here to complete our insurance verification form. Then once you start therapy, you pay for your therapy sessions and we file insurance claims on your behalf so you can get reimbursed. We offer this service to all our patients as we want them to be able to focus on therapy and their mental health, not on dealing with the insurance insurance claim submission process.

What are your therapy fees?Fees are discussed individually. Please contact us directly to learn more about our therapists and their rates.

Do you offer sliding scale or reduced-fee sessions?Yes, we have clinicians with sliding scale availability starting at $150.

How do I pay for sessions?Payments for sessions are due at the time of each session. Payments are done by credit card on our HIPPA compliant electronic health record system, Simple Practice, using Stripe.

How long are therapy sessions?Session length may vary slightly depending on the provider, but generally: Individual therapy sessions are 45–50 minutes Couples and family sessions range from 50–60 minutes Group therapy sessions (DBT) are typically 90 minutes

What is the No Surprises Act?"No Surprise Act” requires that your health care provider You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of what your services may cost. Good Faith Estimate for your care: Under the law (Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act) health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have a right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services. You can ask our practice for a Good Faith Estimate in writing before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. What is your cancellation policy?We require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be billed in full, as this time has been reserved specifically for you.
