General Job Description
Part-Time / Full-Time Therapist
Upper East Side Psychology is an evidence-based group private practice serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in New York City. We are seeking part-time and full-time psychotherapists to join our team. This position is ideal for clinicians who value strong clinical work, collaboration, professionalism, and ongoing development.
Clinicians in this role will provide psychotherapy services tailored to their training and areas of expertise, with opportunities to work with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, parents, couples, families and groups depending on experience and interest. The practice offers a supportive and collegial environment for therapists who are self-motivated, reliable, and invested in providing excellent care.
Responsibilities

Provide high-quality psychotherapy to clients across the lifespan based on your training and specialty areas

Conduct intake evaluations and ongoing treatment

Maintain timely, accurate, and professional documentation (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans, termination summaries)

Collaborate with the practice team and referral sources when appropriate

Participate in consultation, didactics, supervision, and team meetings as applicable

Build and maintain a caseload of in-person and virtual patients: part-time (15-20 clients) or full-time (25-35 clients)
Ideal Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, and mental health counseling
-
Licensed or license-eligible in New York State
-
Experience working with one or more of the following populations: children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, parents

Training in evidence-based treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, experience and training in family therapy, couples therapy, psychodynamic therapy or related modalities are also welcome

Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and communication skills

Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative team

Evening in-person availability (2 nights a week for part-time providers and 2-3 nights a week for full-time providers)
